I'm seeing and hearing a lot about how impressive the Habs have been 14 games into the season, but I need to remind myself that recent history suggests this hot start is not something to get too excited about. Any Habs fan remember last year when leading into (and after) the All Star break the team was below average? Last year is not the only year the Habs have blown a decent start, only to end up scratching and clawing their way into the 7th or 8th playoff spot.
While I know each year should be looked at on its own merits, and hopefully this year bucks the trend they've followed recently, I'll start getting excited when the trade deadline hits and this team is still playing better-than-average hockey and challenging for one of the top 4 spots in the conference.
