When the Hawks put Samsonov on waivers I thought that his career was over and he would retire gracefully. I then pulled up his stat sheet and realized he is still only twenty-nine. Sergei still has the chance to turn it around and finish with a decent career. Not this year but maybe next. So who should give him this opportunity? The L.A. Kings of course. He is set to become a free agent next year, so if you don't like him, don't keep him. If he does well some team may come around at the trade deadline and want him to make a playoff run. If not resign him cheap and pair him with Frolov and Handzus. The only thins you will lose is a roster spot which belongs to Giuliano or Willsie. (Who?) Enough predicting, time for celebrating. After an "ify" goal in the first the Kings played decent hockey. That being said, forwards could not get a forecheck going and could not carry the puck anywhere for more than two seconds before turning it over and having the Avs shoot it at Aubin. This doesn't work when you don't have Loungo in net, and you get out shot 30-23 and most of your shots came in the last few minutes. The game was open and the Kings got goals from people you wouldn't expect to get goals, who need to get goals. When Ivanans and McCleod finally stopped dissing eachothers mammas the Kings ended their losing streak with a 3-1 win. Tomorrow today they start a new in Chicago hopefully with Cammy and we may see Klemm with Stuarts foot injury and back to back road games, but it highly unlikely but their is a 35% all the same. Monday the Kings should have put in for Samsonov or maybe when he comes in on re-entry waivers if no one claims him the first go and Chicago really wants to get rid of him.

Samsonov has been snakebit with the Hawks. he can still play and he's worked hard this year. He doesn't fit where they're going is all.
Last couple of years have been downers for him. Kings are in aposition, with no playoff hopes this year, to take the chance on him.
