What I don't understand with the Pittsburgh Penguins right now is why don't they play Georges Laraque. They brought Laraque in for one reason....to protect Sidney Crosby. The Senators have gotten plenty of shots in on Crosby that have not been called. If the Senators know that they will get away with it why would they stop. The Pens need someone like Laraque to make sure the Senators don't take shots at Crosby so he can play his game....Petrovicky and Ruutu have not been doing the job. If this is going to be a long and physical series the Pens are going to need Laraque.
Ottawa will counter with McGratton should Laraque be dressed for a game. Not that I doubt Laraque will whip his butt, but it just escalates into an arms race. I think both coaches want to play skill over size, but if this series turns nasty it may change their thinking.
Nashville is having the same issue right now. We brought in Vitali Vishnevski for size and depth and he never plays. Instead we decide we're going to play undersized defensemen that would be better off as forwards against a strong San Jose team. I don't know why you wouldn't play Laraque either.
And apparently you're a Buffalo fan so, excuse the "you".
PredNation, who do you propose the Preds should sit in favor of VV? Zanon? Suter? Zidlicky?
i agree laraque would beat 'em down
