The Sabres proved that there is no way that they can be a playoff team last night. Two blown two-goal leads in three games. Pathetic. I don't understand how they can ALWAYS break down when they are GIVEN freebie points by playoff teams. I say, sit Miller down, put in Thibault. Miller has had concistency problems and always chokes come playoff time. How do you know if Thibault is worth the money if he plays five games a year? Now, the guys in front of him aren't performing at that clutch level, either. You can say that it's injuries, poor officiating, whatever. But, I say that they are not showing that they can play 60+ minutes up hockey. One bright spot is that the Sabres know how to get secondary scoring, because they don't have a Crosby or Ovechkin type player. Just average players who can record average stats.
Overall team analysis: C+
It's been a great ride, but there aren't enought 60-minute efforts out of this team.
THANK YOU! I'm one of the biggest supporters of Ryan Miller, but I've been saying this for some time --- Put Thibault in!
Its time to start clearing out some of the dead wood. Afinegenov, Connolly, Kotalik, they've all had plenty of time to show what they've got. ESPECIALLY, this year after the 2 big ticket players left town. It was their time to shine and all 3 were a major disappointment, big time.
