Hello all. This will be my first blog post of what I hope will be many in the future. To get started, I would like to tell you a little bit about me and my hockey background.
I grew up in Michigan. I was born in the suburbs of Detroit and then later moved to Northern Lower Michigan near Traverse City, where my beloved team, the Red Wings holds training camp. I lived in Michigan until I turned 32. I got a job offer I could not refuse which brought me to where I have called home for the past 4 1/2 years of this writing, Las Vegas, Nevada.
I never played hockey on any teams but did play when I was a youngster on the lakes of Michigan with friends. I was horrible but really enjoyed the game. I think what I enjoy most about Hockey is the good camaraderie between the people involved in the game. There is a code in Hockey that people can use to help them in their everyday lives. It is something that is hard to explain to an outsider looking in but all those that love the game understand it.
Since my location has changed, but my #1 team has not, I will be writing about the Red Wings along with the L.A. Kings, my adopted team. It was instilled in me at a young age to always stay loyal and root for your home team. Well, I am and will always be loyal to the Red Wings and the Kings are now my home team until Las Vegas receives a team which could be sooner or later.
