Red Wings Schedule and My Thoughts

After looking at the Red Wings schedule for the upcoming season I notice some very, very sweet weekends! As mentioned earlier in Mark Spizzirri's Red Wing blog here on Hockeybuzz, they have 2 tough road trips out west and of course everyone is talking about the New Years Day game vs. Chicago Blackhawks outdoors at Wriggley Field along with the unveiling of the Stanley Cup Banner against the Toronto Maples Leafs, so I won't touch on those three issues as they will be written about on most news sites.
What I think is going to be so fun is that it appears the Red Wings will be on CBC 4 times for Hockey Night in Canada. Along with appearing on H.N.C. the Red Wings play a few games on Saturday nights against some Original Six foes. Weekends should be a nice celebration of good ole fashioned hockey in Red Wings land and that is what I am looking forward to!

playing different teams and playing on prime time should also help the attendance. I think attendance was down last year just for the simple fact.. who wants to see the wings play the blue jackets, the hawks, the preds and the blues 4 times each. Nothing against those teams but that's almost half of the home games playing olny 4 teams. Anyway, i'm looking forward to a exciting season.
