First Period Meltdown Costs Juniors Win

<b>Too Little, Too Late</b>


<b>Montreal. Wednesday, November 12, 2008.</b> The Juniors faced the Titans for the second time at home this season, having previously defeated the Titans 4-3 in a very close game which marked the debut of Angelo Esposito’s career as a Montreal Junior. Montreal entered Wednesday night trailing the Huskies by 4 points for 1st place in their division.


<b>Acadie-Bathurst 4 - Montreal Juniors 0</b>


A first period collapse cost the Juniors the win Wednesday night as the Acadie-Bathurst Titans scored all of their goals in the first period, blanking Montreal 4-0. Led by Tomy Joly’s 2 goals and Eric Faille’s 3 points, Acadie chased Jake Allen from the net after only 15 minutes. Allen allowed 3 goals on 8 shots before being replaced by backup JF Bérubé.

Montreal dominated the game after the first, outshooting the Titans 29-3 in the final periods, but it was Acadie goaltender Nicholas Champion who stole the game. Champion made 39 saves in the shutout, many of them spectacular.

With the loss, the Juniors record drops back to .500(11-11), remaining 4 points back of Rouyn-Noranda for first place in the Western Division.

The Juniors will play 3 games in 3 nights starting Friday night at home versus P.E.I. at 7pm. Montreal travels to Gatineau om Saturday for a game versus Gatineau at 4pm and return home Sunday to play the Moncton Wildcats.
