The Montreal Canadiens have signed free-agent forward Philippe Lefebvre to a three-year contract.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Lefebvre, 18, won the 2009 QMJHL Championship with the Drummondville Voltigeurs at the Memorial Cup Tournament. In 2008-09, the Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, naitive finished sixth among Drummondville skaters with a plus- 31 rating in 68 regular-season games.
Selected in the first round, second overall by Drummondville at the 2007 QMJHL Draft, Lefebvre was invited to the
Canadiens' development Camp in July. He was also invited to the club's rookie camp and the main training camp.
