Flyers missing the Playoffs?? Stars making it, and the revamped and completely awesome St.Louis Blues finishing in 13th?? Ottawa making the playoffs? Seriously man, some of that is wayyyy off, even considering that it's not even pre-season. There is a precedent here that is generally followed. One such precedent that is accepted is that Philly is going to make the playoffs and probably win the division.
August 26, 2009 7:19 PM ET | Delete
I wouldn't say that.. It's all on Ray Emery's shoulders this season. Ottawa makes the playoffs because of Leclaire and Kovalev, St.Louis finishing 13 because of poor defence, and dallas only sucked last year because of Sean Avery and Brendan Morrow AND Brad Richards missing most of the season.
August 26, 2009 7:24 PM ET | Delete
The Sabres 14th??? are you on somthing. Were better then 14th
August 26, 2009 7:25 PM ET | Delete
honestly, i don't have an explaination why i think the blues will choke this year :S i just have a feeling in my gut. and i debated whether i should put points down, but i decided not to. I think the flyers finish extreamly close to ottawa but not close enough, just like montreal and florida last year
August 26, 2009 7:27 PM ET | Delete
no, no your not better than 14th. Terrible defence and offence, who do they have to build the team around? besides vanek? one guy can't do it all. oh wait sorry and miller. ? provided scott gomez doesnt trample him again
August 26, 2009 7:29 PM ET | Delete
Bro your out of it, good luck with Heatly I hope he rots there.
August 26, 2009 7:33 PM ET | Delete
? im a habs fan..
August 26, 2009 7:35 PM ET | Delete
Ya my fault, I meant good luck with Price because he couldn't hold Millers jock.
August 26, 2009 7:38 PM ET | Delete
To much of this Heatly crap on this board, it's throwing me off
August 26, 2009 7:44 PM ET | Delete
he has one bad season and everyone hates him
August 26, 2009 7:47 PM ET | Delete
price, has one bad season and everyone hates himbut about heatly, i think hes (franked) his whole career, who wants a bad locker room guy?
August 26, 2009 7:48 PM ET | Delete
Nope. Everyone started hating him when he started acting like a self-entitled primadonna.
August 26, 2009 7:54 PM ET | Delete
thank you.. someone with common sence who has the rangers in the playoffs.. 4 years ina row we made it.. and this year were better than last...with henrik in net... you make the playoff.. simple as that
August 26, 2009 7:58 PM ET | Delete
you seriously think the Flyers are gunna miss the playoffs?? ok buddy... its not all on Emery... we have a solid Backup who held SJ in it when Naby was hurt last year.. or do you forget that? you can tell your another one of those Habs fans still sour On philly from 2 years ago.. and Emery is a solid goalie for the most part.. a upgrade on Biron who got us to the playoffs 2 years in a row..
August 26, 2009 8:04 PM ET | Delete
emery and upgrade on biron? yeah if your thinking 2006. And it's not about playoff 2 years ago, its all on emery.
August 26, 2009 8:06 PM ET | Delete
rangers will make it but not past washington
August 26, 2009 8:27 PM ET | Delete
No way the Rangers and Habs make it but Flyers don't.
August 26, 2009 8:28 PM ET | Delete
OrangeNBlack, questionable whether or not Emery is an upgrade on Biron... He could be... which is saying something... but if he has another implosion like in Ottawa, he is no upgrade.
August 26, 2009 8:47 PM ET | Delete
explain how the habs make it when they lose koivu and kovy while getting much smaller and weaker ,the d gets old and slow and your building of a shitty team anyway...the sabres have vanek who will score in the 40s
August 26, 2009 8:50 PM ET | Delete
pommer who will get 70-85pts with around 30 goals, roy will get about the same as pommer hecht will bounce back to 45-50pts paille goose and mac and grier all in the 30 to 40s and stafford who will get about 25g and 50-60pts...sabres got tougher with monty and grier and mccormik
August 26, 2009 8:55 PM ET | Delete
not to mention a decnt dfense with badass rivet a great young dman in butler thenext chara in myers soild dman in montador and lydman and dont forget we got weber who can kick ass and sekera who is a devolping young puck mover and service able tallinder and patech...and Miller! price can suck balls you fuckken homer
August 26, 2009 8:57 PM ET | Delete
you need to switch the flyers with the habs and the sabres with the sens
August 26, 2009 9:26 PM ET | Delete
Give the Habs more credit. They will be stronger
August 26, 2009 9:42 PM ET | Delete
How can you tell? On paper they are better, but they revamped just about everything. The chemistry might not be there.
August 26, 2009 9:49 PM ET | Delete
August 26, 2009 9:50 PM ET | Delete
The Sabres are a lot better than you give them credit for, and I think you'll eat those words as the season goes on.
August 26, 2009 10:39 PM ET | Delete
sabres in 14th?? you really think they got that much worse this offseason? there is no way buffalo finishes that low.
August 26, 2009 11:02 PM ET | Delete
I hate the Flyers, but there's now way they're out of the play-offs. I would switch Philly and Montreal. I think Montreal will battle for 8th. I think that Ottawa might suck this year too.
August 27, 2009 12:35 AM ET | Delete
August 27, 2009 12:38 AM ET | Delete
give the habs more credit, Gionta and Gomez enjoyed career seasons together and Cammalleri is an emerging star. Spacek with Markov on the PP... Thats scary. Who knows what happens this season, it could be good or bad.
August 27, 2009 1:49 AM ET | Delete
i wont be too harsh as ur obviously and east coast man, so i wont try to check u on east conf. cuz i dont see them either, but dallas making the playoffs is a joke, and the blues missing is hilarious, i just read earlier comments that said things similar, and dallas is going to suck for a lot more reasons than sean avery drama, and questions on stl defense i say erik johnson, nuff said
August 27, 2009 1:49 AM ET | Delete
cammalleri is not a emerging star ... he was iggys winge
August 27, 2009 1:50 AM ET | Delete
cammalleri isnt a emerging star .... he was iggys winger
August 27, 2009 8:56 AM ET | Delete
Philly having a floppy Forsberg year again to miss the playoffs not seeing it they will push for the divison title more like it with Pronger on board. Rangers are on the bubble with Sens, Habs and Sabers all fighting for last play-off spot and only one of them will be in. Canucks not a bubble team and will push for title again but may fall short to 5/6th. Stars, Blues and Jackets on bubble too.
August 27, 2009 9:09 AM ET | Delete
I am glad you have the Devils that high because i dont see them falling below 5th (unfortunately i dont see them getting out of the first round either)...i like MTL at 7 or 8, flyers have to be in at 4 or 5, and rangers probably squeek in instead of ottawa, buffalo has to be higher too, maybe 9 or 10
August 27, 2009 9:37 AM ET | Delete
Valiant effort but, that has to be some of the worst logic I have heard as to why some teams will miss the playoffs. Bizarre predictions.

sourceplease. cam wasn't iggy's winger in LA where he got .68, 1, and .74 points per game in three years. good one
August 27, 2009 11:09 AM ET | Delete
also i see buffalo higher than toronto, tampa, florida and NYI....
August 27, 2009 11:41 AM ET | Delete
thank you Blaze.
August 27, 2009 11:49 AM ET | Delete
cammy scored 36 goals the year before playing with the shitty L.A kings.
August 27, 2009 12:39 PM ET | Delete
not bad picks...agree about ottawa, st.louis, dallas, but TOTALLY disagree about philly, i think they'll go FAR this year, and i think edmonton'll make the playoffs. GO HABS GO
August 27, 2009 12:46 PM ET | Delete
Simply put...worst predictions I have seen yet!
August 27, 2009 1:06 PM ET | Delete
August 27, 2009 8:45 PM ET | Delete
leafsprospect, just because toronto doesn't make the playoffs, AGAIN, because of poor offence, doesn't mean they are the worst predictions YOU have seen yet, i have had a one on one conversation with derran dreger and pierre mguire about a job as a tsn anyalist when in reach the age(im 15) have you ever had a one on one conversation with dd and pm? i thought so, they think im a smart kid
August 27, 2009 10:29 PM ET | Delete
habsteen, congrats on being so passionate about your career and i'd say you are doing a good job. i don't necessarily agree 100% but you are in the ballpark. regardless keep posting and good luck, my only concern is i wouldn't brag about PM, he doesn't know his butt from a hole in the ground. one of the worst on tv, and that's saying something
August 28, 2009 2:39 AM ET | Delete
August 28, 2009 2:43 AM ET | Delete
So true Blaze. PM is horrid. But even if he was the world's greatest analyst, bragging about conversations with people in the media is a great way to annoy people in the media (not to mention others who happen to read about it). It's great that you've expressed an interest in this industry, and are following up your passion habsteen26, but boasting and mocking your readers won't help your cause.
August 28, 2009 8:36 AM ET | Delete
U r a BOZO. Montreal ahead of Ottawa and Philadelphia - what are you smoking. Montreal will finish about 10th. You should blog on broomball instead.
August 28, 2009 8:45 AM ET | Delete
How is Montreal finishing ahead of Ottawa make him a bozo. They've finished ahead of them the last two years, and Ottawa hasn't done much to their team, other then bring in Leclaire, and Kovy, who, lets be honest, is super talented but lazy as hell. Not to mention this whole Heatly saga. Thats just gotta be great for the team...

August 28, 2009 10:59 AM ET | Delete
come on!!!! the habs will not finish 5th and the flyers and sabres wont miss the playoffs. montreal lost all there leadership and defensive thoughness the past 2 years they will have a really bad year gomez and gionta are overpaid and cammalary wont put up the numbers he did playing with ignla. heres a more realistic look at the final standings in the east1. Penguins2. Caps3. Bruins4. Flyers5.Jersey6. hurricains7.Sabres8. Leafs9. lightning10. florida11. rangers12. habs13. islanders14. atlanta15. Sens
August 28, 2009 11:45 AM ET | Delete
Sens 15 - u r the biggest moron is history - Once Heatly is dealt or even if he isn't they'll be top 4 in the EAST. Leclaire-Karlsson-CAmpoli-Kovalev - wakey wakey - not Cammelari-GOMEZ(been finished for a few years now) and Gionta! Whooopie - Somebody tell what New Jersey has that will make them a playoff team - not much there that i can see
August 28, 2009 12:04 PM ET | Delete
HABSTEEN - I say you eat your underwear - way before the Buffalo fan does,. Buffalo will finish ahead of the Habs - slow finished d-men Carey(swiss cheese) Price in nets. No offence- ammeleri isn't playing with Iginla this year. and Plekanec playing like a girlie again this year. Worst Montreal team in the last 40 years - Analyze that.
August 28, 2009 2:14 PM ET | Delete
jakester - montreal had 10 more points than ottawa last year and that ACTUALLY WAS montreal's worst season in a long time by the end. you don't have a clue
