The canucks have been out of the playoffs, and for a while, but the team itself took a dramatic transformation. Sure, you can look at the block buster deal of the summer, with Roberto Luongo becoming a hero over a course of after one game, but there is more to the team. Alain Vigneault is up for the Jack adams trophy, and personally i think he is very deserving of this award. He has not coached in the NHL since his days in Montreal, and his team posting records in wins and points in a season is impressive enough. Not to mention the club was below .500 at christmas time. The canucks compared to last year, seemed to have that emotion, grit, and heart. For once the players were for the post part making an effort. IF they werent, after the intermission the players would seem to have more bounce in their step. Can this be said about all the candidates for the Jack Adams? Yes. Sure Lindy Ruff and Michel Therrien (sp?) have had amazing results, and are in equal consideration, but perhaps its my Canucks fan bias that is getting in my way.
Anybody else think he is deserving? I leave you with a personal anecdote. I was at the sens canucks game this year, and I was waiting for the Canucks to come out of the dressing room. Ten minute before either team came out Alain came out. He noticed me staring at the bench, looked directly at me, and gave me a thumbs up. When it happened it gave me goosebumps. Its one of those things you just have to be there to appreciate it.
he certainly deserves that trophy (jack adams)
Ya Alain for Jack Adams.
