Has Kovalchuck lost his footing with New Jersey Devils Fans?

After weeks of back and forth a lot of Devils fans are ready to put Kovalchuck back on the shelf and walk to the next item for sale.
Not only have the devils fans been patient with the 27-yr old winger but have shown Kovigreed that they would like for him to remain part of the Devils organization. But after 2 weeks of 12 yr deals, 17yr deals, 6 yr deals and the Kings in and out saga it seems to have taken its toll kovalchucks fan following here in New Jersey.
And the real question: If he signs with the Devils…Well what took you so long?

“My hat goes off to Lou. He did all he can to sign Kovi. Kovi wants to play for LA; and that is fine by me. If he wants to go to LA, let him go. I'd rather have players that want to play here. Thats why Lou should grow some balls and tell Grossman and Kovi, "We need a decision by Friday. If no decision, my offer is off the table and I will move on." And then, Lou should focus his attention to Parise. Sign Parise to a long-term contract before the summer is over.

I agree. I'd rather have Parise signed to a long term contract. Kovalchuk just wasted our time.

It's to the point where I no longer want Kovy on our team, this back and forth crap is worthless. He should worry about playing and not the money, it's pathetic. Go to California, we don't need you, next!!!!

When will athletes STOP lying to the fans .. what happened to him wanting to play for a winner .. haven't the Devils been in 13 straight? Go to Cali, sign for huge money but watch out for the big D man we got the next time you come east big boy .... I'd love a Stevens-Lindros hit ... this back and forth is just a slap in Lou's face .. you're not worth $100M you're not worth the $70M either ....
I for one being a Devils fan feel that kovalchuck has been using the Devils offers to work numbers with the Kings. And like other Devil fans I feel he should be let go and put back on the shelf.
