A woman and 6 of her friends attended Game 4 of the ECF up at Scotiabank Place dressed in Sabres jerseys and gear. After the game, this lady was pushed down to the ground, punched, and others in her group were injured as someone attacked them.

This is absurd and utterly horrible to hear...not just because I'm a Sabres fan. If this happened in any other arena, for any other sport, it would be just as bad. I am not stupid enough to think that all Ottawa fans are like this, nor do I think that this doesn't happen elsewhere fairly frequently at sporting events.

But seriously....take out your frustrations on talk radio, or by yelling at the refs, or by booing the players. Don't take the easy route and pummel fans from the other team.

Why would you even say something like that CD? That is just emblematic of the disturbing comments and attitudes displayed by a lot of Sabres fans this year. I love the team but am definitely starting to not like the fans.

Yes...very classy Cleon...good thinking! If the story is even true, it represents not even 99% of the true hockey fans world-wide! It is a shame if it happened...but how about we show them what real hockey fans are...and not join them on their level. They are simply thugs and have no place in the sport, much less society.

It's a true story and is sad to see:http://www.canada.com/topics/sports/hockey/senatorsstory.html?id=51f01c5b-07ff-4276-a833-7c3951600a05Cleon is out of his mind if he thinks Buffalo fans should retaliate on Saturday night. That is out of the question.

My comment wasn't to say that i would be out there with a hatchet looking to exact retribution... but i know Buffalonians. Sometimes it ain't pretty! That small crosssection of fans who are apt to snap will be fueled up and ready to get stupid on Saturday afternoon. Having this story in the back of their collective minds might enable a quicker than normal flashpoint. Buffalonians and crazy... I'd beware if was a Sen fan... that's all i'm saying.

Cleon is an idiot. Everyone knows that if you go to an opposing stadium you must be very courteous. But sometimes people stray away from that. IM not saying every sabres fan is a bandwagon jumper but at least 84% of them are. The sabres fans should be mad at their owners. they gouged they pockets with ticket prices and went into the red. then they got new owners who took advantage of the fact that they had one good year and then they gouged the pockets of their 16 fans and the bandwagons jumpers and made new jerseys. then the bandwagon jumpers and 16 fans bought the new jerseys. (by the way, they will be getting new jerseys next year.) anyway, the moral of the story is that buffalo has 16 fans.

As someone who lives in Ottawa and cheers for the Senators I am sickened by the actions of this person. These actions go far outside of the box and should not be tolerated by anyone. I for one hope this (these) individuals get their just due punishment and on behalf of Ottawa I apologize to anyone and everyone offended and please don't categorize all of us becasue of the stupidity of one individual, not that you would.

The guys that did this were gutless punks and should get a lifetime ban. There is no place for that kind of garbage but if Buffalo fans would apply the same standard to their own renegade fans the moral indignity would ring more true.During last season's ECF's some Sabres "fans" seemed to rolling caravans of trouble just looking for an outlet. RBC Center holds over 100 events a year and the first two games alone with Buffalo accounted for half the arrests made in the entire year. Physical confrontations took place in the stands, in the smoking concourses and in the parking lot. It doesn't lessen the thuggery that took place in Ottawa but when Sabres fans were confronted with these realities they either refused to believe it or shrugged it off with the "you don't understand how passionate we are" excuse.
