Just announced... the Chicago Blackhawks have traded forwards Bryan Bickell and Tuevo Terevainen to the Carolina Hurricanes for a 2nd round pick in the 2016 draft and a 3rd pick in the 2017 draft. The Hawks have freed up a ton of cap space by making this move. What could it mean? Well, it could mean that the Hawks can for sure bring back fan favorite Andrew Shaw. Also, the Hawks could potentially bring in a veteran defenseman like Brian Campbell and potentially bring back Andrew Ladd. But... a bigger rumor that has swirled is one of Evgeni Malkin. Malkin has a short list of teams he would accept a trade to and Chicago happens to be one of them. Hockeybuzz's Eklund quoted that "the Hawks NEVER clear cap space without a reason". Could Malkin be the reason? Who knows. Please leave a comment with your thoughts! Or tweet me @rnldluce with comments! Thanks for reading!
