"San Jose Sharks 2010-11"
*Not Getting The Bit* Regina, SK • Canada • 25 Years Old • Male
We are now halfway through the season.
The Sharks have the 3rd best record in the league.
They are 2nd in the West and are leading the Pacific.
The Stars have the same amount of points but SJ has 3 games in hand.
They have been playing sensational hockey on the road this season.
However, they are under .500 at home.
This is why I think there has been so much negative press concerning SJ.
A lot of fans pay a lot for season tickets to see the Sharks play.
Of course they would be inclined to place more importance on home play.
Being in a whole other nation, all games are "away" games for me.
If the Sharks were playing well at home there would be far less complaints.
There have been some crazy trade rumors.
In my opinion most of them had very little merit to begin with.
Other teams making offers is enough to be a "rumor".
Some teams, like Montreal, just couldn't take a hint.
Doug Wilson is smart though to always keep his eyes and ears open.
For the most part I'd say DW has done a brilliant job.
I am sure he will make the right moves come trade deadline time.
I have very few complaints about the team so far.
The only complaint I have can be summed up in one word: Coaching.
Ron Wilson has been in my good books since he came here.
But some of the decisions he has made have been questionable.
I would have given Nabby at least 2 or 3 games off by now.
The line juggling can work well but sometimes consistency is needed.
Semenov getting more PP time than anyone save Joe is ridiculous.
There were also some iffy scratches, notably McLaren and Brown.
There's no question he has been a good coach, but a great coach?
Does a team really need great coaching to win a Stanley Cup?
I have a really good feeling that this is the Sharks year.
I guess we will just have to hope and wait and see.
