Rumor: Flyers agree to four-year extension with Lupul

Team 1260 in Edmonton is reporting that the Flyers have reached an agreement with Right Winger Joffrey Lupul. The deal is rumor to be a four-year extension and Sportnet is reporting that it will be about 4.25 million per year. Lupul finished last season with 46 points in just 56 games. Eric Desjardins has returned to the Flyers after just retiring two seasons ago, not as a player this time, but a coach. "Rico" will be working as a part-time developmental coach. Today, Flyers forward Patrick Thoreson has announced he is returning to Europe for next season. He will likely end up in Switzerland or Sweden. Before signing with the Oilers he played for Djurgarden and will likely return to play there. He will definitely be in the NHL in two years. Ed Snider announced today that the Flyers have reached an extension with current GM Paul Holmgren that will keep him for another three years. Stefan Ruzicka has decided to go back to Europe to play. The Flyers will still retain his rights since the transfer agreement is not in effect. WIth this loss the Phantoms will likely need another forward, I wouldn't be surprised if the Flyers signed one of their prospects in the coming days.
