First off, this is my first blog. Just fyi.

Today, the Flyers made two big deals. Carter too Columbus for a pair of picks and Jakub Voracek. They also sent Mike Richards too the Kings for Brayden Schenn, Wayne Simmonds and a 2nd round pick (overpayment imo). So how do these two trades affect Toronto and there train of thought going into the draft?

The first trade only influences Toronto in one aspect. The 8th overall pick. It now seems that a playoff team and stanley cup contender like Philadelphia would be more open too trading a top 10 pick compared too when Columbus had it, a team pushing for the playoffs. So maybe this is a pick Burke can look at.

The other trade means a little more in my opinion. Toronto has defensive defenseman Luke Schenn and his brother, Brayden, was part of these deals to Philadelphia. Most leaf fans would agree Brian Burke wants Brayden Schenn. Most leafs fans would want him too. But would Philly move him so soon? I believe they would if the price was right. What would be worth it? He would have too be young, a lot of potential, a little pro experience. Well, thats Nazem Kadri. Reportedly Burke wouldn't give up Kadri too land Carter, would he for a small contract young centre? I think so.

Your thoughts?
