Changes have to be made. Make them. These are changes that should have been made after we lost Visnovsky. These are changes that should have been made when our nightly defensive lineup featured choices of Martinek, Carkner, and/ or Donovan. These are changes that should have been made when we lost our “number one” goaltender, Nabokov (three different times), let alone the NHL Draft debacle that could have seen Cory Schneider don the orange and blue. These are changes that should have been made before Andrew MacDonald morphed into Apple MacTurnover. These are changes that should have been made before you returned Griffin Reinhart to juniors before he can even step on the ice for one minute of NHL time. Are you seriously telling me you’d rather have Martinek or Carkner in there? Seriously? And, most devastatingly, these are changes that should have been made before another November swoon absolutely murdered our season, yet again. I haven’t even scratched the surface. We haven’t even discussed the coaching staff, and why bother? There’s no point in discussing this. As long as there is this weird sense of loyalty to an underachieving coach that holds absolutely no one accountable, then there’s no point. How can you sit there and watch eleven blown third period leads? That’s right, eleven. How can you sit there and watch the confidence level of your team plummet under this coach? How can you not see that maybe this coach has a stale message. “The guys know how they have to play,” and the guys know that we “have to play a certain way.” Is it possible, Mr. Snow, that maybe they actually DON’T KNOW how they have to play? Is it possible? Why is this acceptable? Why does it seem that no one is accountable under your watch? Fair questions, and we deserve answers. You know what to do. Do it.

In all honesty dont rush a kid into this mess. Get it more settled first. Rushing a young guy, even if better than the other guys you mention, is not necessarily a good thing! Just look at how Columbus had Rusty Klesla hurting by rushing him too soon where the body was not ready to take the punishment. That said I think realizing you need to fix the goaltending and defence before the team can really take that next step forward. They are headed in the right direction but they have a lot of holes still in that roster to work on. Really the big question has to come in is Garth Snow the guy to get the roster retooled and the holes filled? If not then the changes start right there. After that then it is coaches and personell, followed then by the roster. Again though the future is looking bright, with a lot of talented pieces present and coming. Change has to happen though to have them take that next big step forward, but that change I think starts with the GM.
