Enough is enough. Seriously, this time, it is. Even after 24 hours since the latest laughable and highly predictable blunder by GM Garth Snow was made, it’s clear the dust won’t settle on this for quite some time. It’s clear that while for most NHL teams, the trade deadline conducts its normal, healthy business model, addressing needs, improving their rosters, etc. For the New York Islanders, it’s business as usual. In the shadow lurks a stench of the worst stink you can imagine; a smell so horrid and irritating that it almost acts as novocaine to the body of one of the most loyal fan bases in all of hockey. That odor permeates, lingers, and begins to cast a brand new definition to the word incompetence. So, I say this to us blue-collar fans of the New York Islanders: our management are complete and abject failures. It is time for the fans that actually attend the remaining eight home games to hear our vocal chords and hear them loud. Let go, free yourselves, and make the incompetents hear your voices: Fire Garth Snow.

This is exactly the type of incompetence that will see the only homegrown superstar since Ziggy Palffy leave the team after the 2017-18 NHL season, and who can blame him. When the Toronto Sun calls you a laughingstock, it permeates. Not only is one of the most read newspapers in Ontario calling you a joke, but the other 29 General Managers imply that by their dealings with you. “With this deal and the MacDonald deal, we have some chips we can play with at the draft and a potential top six forward in Collberg.” Yeah, right. Garth Snow never even heard of Sebastian Collberg until about 2:45pm on Wednesday afternoon. Yesterday’s Vanek deal was so predictable for us Islanders fans, that you are not fooling anyone. This is exactly what happened. You failed miserably to do your homework before even making this pointless deal to begin with, shelled out a blank check to a guy who can’t or refused to play defense, and overplayed your hand on deadline day, and got absolutely schooled. Don’t the New York Islanders realize that NO ONE takes this guy seriously? Don’t they get that when the other 29 GM’s need to address their rosters and want to pay nothing, they know who to call? It simply cannot just be this way. We’re all sick and tired of Islander finances and the Coliseum being lumped in as excuses. This is, and has been for 25+ years, inept and incompetent management/ ownership. Plain and simple.

"It wasn't a very active market," Snow told Newsday Wednesday afternoon, shortly after the 3 p.m. ET deadline passed. This has to be some sort of joke. Every single time I hit the refresh button, another deal was made. In fact, 38 players have a new home today, ten of which were goaltenders. Yup, ten goaltenders, including Jaroslav Halak traded twice in a few days. When you throw in the Devan Dubnyk and Ben Scrivens deal in January, that’s twelve goaltenders moved in the last two months. How on earth can Garth Snow sit idly by and watch this happen? The Islanders have literally three awful goalies, one who can’t stop a high glove wrist shot if his life depended on it, and two who have proven they are nothing more than potential second team all-AHL caliber. Who on earth does Garth Snow think he can get at the NHL Draft in June who is a true number one goalie and under contract? We all saw his reluctance to include Nino Niedereiter in a deal for Cory Schneider at last year’s draft, instead opting for a true 4th line NHL player in Cal Clutterbuck (somehow, someway, he gets 2nd or 3rd line minutes on the Islanders). As far as free agent goalies, who in their right mind would willingly immerse themselves in this mess and, on their own accord, sign a contract with this guy? Simply criminal. Speechless.

There is little left of the apple to chew. Garth Snow is, in a word, bad for business. Islanders fans, I feel for you, as I am one of you, and as much as it hurts me to say this, I have a message from all of us to our captain, John Tavares: When you become an unrestricted free agent after the 2017-18 season, we will all understand when you turn down an extension. In fact, please turn it down because we all want you to win. We will root for you, cheer you on as a visitor in the Barclays Center, or Kansas City, or Quebec, or Seattle, or South Africa for all we know, and will all be deeply indebted to you for your selflessness and leadership on this debacle of a sports franchise. Go get your name on that Stanley Cup, and each of us will, in a small way, win that cup with you.

I very much agree with everything you have said. Garth Snow was one of those mediocre below average goalies in the league and now he is doing a piss poor job and trying to rebuild a once very prominent dynasty team. The Islanders need a tried and true GM that has been around the block. Take some advice and watch/study what Detroit has done over the years, what Chicago has done over the years. Just a suggestion to the Islanders owners.

Last Paragraph sums it up and is SO TRUE....until Wang is gone this team will always suck...Snow has set the franchis back ANOTHER 5 years this season....Worst GM in sports....yet he still has a job, what a joke.

As a long time Ranger fan the name Ziggy Palffy still strikes fear...and that is the last time the Islanders scared another team thanks to Wang and Snow.Snow was never anything better than an NHL backup caliber player...even with his huge wings on his chest protector. I do feel bad for Islanders fans. Can you guys just tough it up for a couple more years until Taveras heads across the river to Broadway? Then you can riot and toss Snow and Wang both in the river.
