What the Isles Lines Should Look Like

Posted January 28, 2013
We're five games into the NHL season, and it's fair to say that the Islanders do look better than many, including myself, were expecting. I believe that if Capuano wants them to make a serious push for a playoff spot, which is still quite the task, the lines need to be shuffled slightly. The Isles cannot afford to blow games with dead weight taking up a roster spot. With Visnovsky coming to Lo... Read More »

2009-2010 Eastern Conference Predictions

Posted September 20, 2009
Each and every year, I decide it is humorous to put myself on the line here (and at the wrath of every single individual), and put forth my predictions for the final standings. While I am only a blogger, I like to think of myself as somewhat of a smart hockey-mind, and I understand that I will be ripped apart by fans of all backgrounds who feel that I betrayed them by not putting their teams at t... About Me

Favorite Teams

The New York Islanders. I have been a die-hard fan all of my life, however, I have truly grown to love the sport of hockey in all aspects. I love watching the Canadiens find success, as well as enjoying teams such as the Oilers and Red Wings.

Most Hated Teams

As I said before, I love hockey too much to hate a team. Although I enjoy greatly when the Rangers lose, especially to the Islanders, I just truly enjoy watching a good hockey product on the ice. If I do hate one thing in hockey, it is an ignorant fan or journalist who refuses to see things from another teams point of view.

Favorite Players

I have respect for a tremendous number of players, here are just a small number of them. Jarome Iginla for his class on and off the ice, Alexander Ovechkin for his pure love of the game and scoring, Richard Park for his work ethic that translates to success, many of the enforcers willing to give up their body for their team and a small number of minutes on the ice, and many others.

Most Hated Players

Sean Avery. It is not that I believe he is talentless, I just feel he is detrimental to the already weak image of hockey in the United States. If he would continue to run his mouth, slightly less, and demonstrate his skills on the ice more often, he could be a great player. Till he learns to do so, I must say I am against him.

Best Hockey Memories

Unfortunately, I am only 20 and missed out on the best years of the Islanders. Because of that I will say the Islanders 2001-2002 Renaissance season is a great memory, my first Islander game against the Devils, Shawn Bates' penalty shot, my first experience watching a team win the Stanley Cup, the day I got season tickets.

As a hockey player, I compare to...

Jarome Iginla. Obviously I am no where near as good as him, but I don't mind going hard at all times for my team, taking a hit, or doing whatever it takes to help the team. I score often, and register many assists as well.
