As the name suggests...
Nash - Crosby - Stamkos
Sharp - Toews - Giroux
E. Staal - Getzlaf - Perry
Richards - Bergeron - Carter
Tavares
Pietrangelo - Weber
Seabrook - Keith
Doughty - Subban
Alzner - Letang
Crawford - Price - Luongo (I say Crawford because he knows how to win on good teams and winning on good teams vs winning on bad teams is very different)
Injury Replacements: Neal, Duchene, J. Staal, M. Staal, J-Bo, Smith
What do you guys think?
nice roster. i think id prefer tavares over sharp even though i do like sharp alot
Not bad, but I dont like Tavares only being a sub, think he will have a full roster spot. Also dont think Carter will make it. Richards maybe, just to play 4th line winger.
Id have to pick Couture over Carter. Someone has to be a Sharks fan. I dont think Alzner even gets a sniff at this roster when the final 25 are picked. Its Canadas tournament to lose with whoever they choose though.
One of Alzner or M. Staal will be on the D if they take 8, they need solid defensive D to offset all the offensive ones... I too like Couture or Tavares upfront but judging from the last team, Hockey Canada tends to go with line mates/teammates.
I think Benn got robbed of a spot and Richards/Bergeron/Benn would have been an unreal 4th line
I also think St. Louis will be on there. Hes a great leader, has the speed needed on the big ice, chemistry with stamkos and he shown he still has it with winning the art ross last season.
I dont think perry belongs on the third line...hes a great sniper, one of the best really...but he does not belong on a grinding line...we have to build team canada like a team and now just throw superstars into fit. In 2010 they did a great job and everyone bought into the program, Best of which was rick nash on the 3rd line. Hes very talented! but he used his body the right way and played a checking roll. For that reason i would have Nash in perrys place here...and hall (a known huge fan of the big stage) on the first LW. Having him being set up by corsby and stamkos tickles my fancy
Perry will play with Getzlaf, without a doubt they will be kept together. I could see the third and second lines swapping places though as Sharp, Toews, and Giroux are all excellent PKers and are defensively responsible... Cannot see Hall making this team over Tavares, Couture, or Neal.
I know hall seems like a long shot, and as a leaf fan I dont quite like him much either...but the guy plays hard all the time. his lowest gear is 99%. The fact remains, he is a true left winger...got 50 points in 45 games last season and i think is one of few to push crosby and stamkos to work a little harder. WE all probly wont like the pick, but it will be a great fit.
tavaras would not be a sub, he was just a hart trophy finalist
If Hall continues his pace from last season it would be difficult to believe that he would not make this team. Anyone who may watch this kid play would know that...
You forgot St. Louis.... duh
I think if Hall replicates or improves from last season, he should be a lock. Imagine his speed on the big ice.

Thats not too shabby of a line up erob 21. That third line.. pure power.
I do not think Tavares can buy into not being the "guy" and will not be able to play in the bottom 6, that is why I have him as a sub. I think chemistry will play a lot into it and that is why I have Sharp/Toews together, Getzlaf/Perry together, and Richards/Carter together. I think if anyone does not make it it is Carter, possibly Tavares bumps up, or Couture. Ideally I would have loved to see Benn on the 4th with Richie and Bergy. Smith is a shutout machine when he gets on a run and I would love for him to be on the team, but I cannot see Luongo not making it, and I think Crawford has the edge over Smity.
I respect what you are saying with Tavares though!
Luongo should make it. Unless hes having another bad season, he is the most sure thing e have. Rest of our goalies arent very proven or have bigger consistency issues.
cam ward over Luongo
Message PostedLOL...yep, that looks pretty much the way I envisioned it too. My only difference would be Marty St. Louis instead of Carter or Tavares.I can see thirstyfins argument for a skilled energy guy like a Couture or even Marchand too. Canada could ice two competitive teams, that is why picking it is so hard...or easy...depending on the way you look at it.
Rick Nash should not make this team
buttttttt he will
