After a rocky 2013-14 season with two MCL sprain injuries the Colorado Avalanche have decided to part ways with PA Parenteau. Colorado has traded PA and a 5th round pick in the 2015 draft to the Montreal Canadians for Forward Danny Briere.
Some comparison:
Adrian Dater of the Denver Post ranked Pa Parenteau a C for Colorado in 2013-14 (
http://blogs.denverpost.c...ades-p-parenteau-c/18255/)
In the past two season PA played in 103 games posting G: 32 A: 44 PTS: 76 with injuries being a large factor last season Colorado fans witnessed more and more Coach Roy at odds with Pa - keeping the bench far warmer than he wished.
Avalanche fans will see what they lose via the 5th round pick come the NHL draft in 2015.
Avs get back a little more experience in Briere as he has played in 916 NHL games compared to PA's 291, Briere also brings a little bit of grit with him. The past two seasons for Danny had him also see 103 games played yet his production was held to 16 goals 22 assists and a whopping 41 points. The playoffs this past season Danny saw 16 games and added 7 points (3g/4a.) Joe Sakic, "Daniel [Briere] is a veteran who brings experience to our hockey club."
In order for the trade to happen Danny needed to approve it by waiving his no-movement clause. Danny obviously wants to be apart of what Colorado is building.

Colorado is still waiting on Paul Stastny, they will hopefully find out tomorrow, but only Paul knows when he will choose and we will all find out in time.
It is still looking as though Ryan O'Reilly and Colorado are heading into arbitration where O'Reilly will be awarded a 1-2 year contract.

Other offers and trade possibilities will be determined shortly good luck to all UFA's and RFA's looking to win the next cup!
