"Avalanche - Thats That."
25 Years Old • Male
After a waiting and waiting, Colorado fans did not have to get news on Ryan O'Reilly from an arbitration stand point. O'Reilly and the Avs have agreed to a two year deal that nets a cap hit of $6M per. For Ryan it is broken up $5.8m year one an $6.2 in his second season.

There are still big questions here. Yes they were able to work out a deal however where does the blood lay in this new contract? Does this help to open O'Reilly to being re-signed in 2015-2016? Or does this mark the count down to the 2016 trade deadline? Twice now Colorado has has a near impossible battle to sign Ryan, it certainly comes down to the player not understanding his role. Duchene and MacKinnon will be Avs long term, O'Reilly with the Avs will more than likely stay a wing. Is that what he truly wants? Or will this come down to a Paul Stastny saga? Wanting to leave because sooner or later you will be passed up.

Regardless, Ryan O'Reilly is an Av for two more years! On the ice he is a hard worker that plays very wise, he has proven that since his rookie season. Where O'Reilly ends up will be determined by both his play and his realization that he won't make much more in Colorado than he will now. Baring a 30+ goal season with 80+ points and better defensive play of course.

The Avs only wait now for Tyson Barrie to accept his offer.
