Free Agency: Halfway through July

Well, this is my first HB blog, so I hope it's a good one. I think with this blog I will have more than the real CBJ blogger, surprise surprise.
I can't follow Howson. I don't get why he isn't signing a Sutton or Tanabe for even one year. Then after this season ends, Foote and Fedorov's contracts are up and we can either sign Sutton or Tanabe for a longer contract, or let them hit the market and sign a bigger name UFA. Big names aren't about everything though. I like the Hejda signing. It's just more depth, which we have plenty of in Columbus, but depth never hurts. It'll make Methot and Tollefson fight for their spots on the roster.
I agree on him not signing (so far) or trading for a goalie. We have depth in the crease, believe it or not. Pascal has some of the fastest and if not the fastest legs in the NHL. The kid is amazing, but he is injury prone. I don't care what his record says. His record was bad under Gallant. Hitch took over, Pascal get injured, and Norrena finished above .500 for the first time in any goalie's CBJ history.
Norrena and Pascal are both solid goalies, and I don't see why we can't just rotate them. Give them five or so games at a time. But then again, we could be letting Pascal sit five after Norrena just won his five games all in a row. So it could potentially be a good or bad idea.
I think this team is fine with another signing from the blueline standpoint. People don't realize this team is a top 3 team when we talk about potential. It's arguable, but I think it's true.
If Zherdev produces and LeClaire stays healthy. Let me rephrase that a little bit. Zherdev has to produce, LeClaire and Nash have to stay healthy. Nash is the heart of this team, no question. If he goes down, this teams confidence drops in tremendous ways. Nash is the future of this team, he is the main man. He knows that, so I think he will work hard to stay in shape and take this team a long way.
With that being said, I think this team can clinch any seed starting from the fifth seed through the eighth seed.

I totally agree. We need another D-man badly. I think they can make some noise but since I've predicted playoffs the past 2 seasons, I can't go as far as to say that they will make it this year. Let's hope they prove me wrong.
I think something Howson is taking into consideration, is that he may have more money to work with next offseason to make a big splash. I don't about you, but if Fedorov has a weak season he might be packing his bags.
