LISTEN UP HOCKEY FANS...
whatever the case of the financial this and financial that. i remember years ago hockey was 85% hockey talk, 10% 'whats a better hockey name, oggie ogalthorpe or darren puppa?, and about 5% hockey financials.
everyone needs to take a step back.
the sport is one that we all obviously know and love. 4pm on a tuesday rolls around and all the sudden that light at the end of the tunnel starts poking through. your boys hit the ice at 7:30...nice. your couch is waiting for you in the comfort of your own home to make sweet sweet love to it why you are enthralled for 2 and a half hours of bliss watching YOUR hockey team. its truly a sweet thing. your day sucked. but hell. that was then and this is now.
now imagine that all the sudden it is taken away from you without you getting an even an ounce of say in the matter.
that is what its about for the nashville fanbase. albeit a little smaller, please, who cares about. they are HOCKEY fans and that is all it should come down to for all of us HOCKEY fans who have been living the good life with our established and successful hockey teams. nashville is just coming to enjoy it in mass quantities AND they have been a very good team for the last 2 seasons. that is all the more reason they should be given all the chances the florida panthers and phoenix coyote fans received, and yes, even our now beloved and almighty pittsburgh penguins fans. the nashville predators have been a first class operation with a refreshingly early return of draft investment and top notch management. did i mention award winners poile and trotz?
i agree with what basille did in sneaking in and stoking the canadien fire to bring more teams to its nation. its even seems natural to americans that more hockey go north of the border. but all of the sudden, its not the penguins moving to kansas city. but nashville going to hamilton and the tune changes to this anti-nashville/small franchise sentiment where fans all of the sudden casting nashville aside as a casualty of the great good of hockey.
you get the picture. its messed up in more ways than one.
so show a little respect for your fellow hockey fans in nashville. maybe even a little support. perhaps buy a save the preds tshirt. or simply stop kicking them while they are down.
