Good game all around for the Senators. They pounced on a noticeably jittery Fleury early and they kept the big Pens stars at bay.
All the Sens played great games. What should be scary for the Pens is that I didn't even notice Spezza or Heatley all night. When (I won't say if) they get going it may become a short series (of course I could say the same thing for Crosby and Malkin). After the chippiness of the end of last night we may see Brian McGrattan suit up, although if he does he'll only get 2 minutes of playing time max. Just long enough to go toe-to-toe with Georges Laraque. That'll be fun to watch.
One player I was particularly impressed with was Mike Comrie. He showed passion and grit all night. Started off with a big check behind the net on a Pens player (it may have been Malkin), continued his rough play all night and ended up with 1 goal and a +2. He also showed a willingness to stand up for his teammates when he dropped the gloves after Talbot gave Corvo a shot to the back of the head. It was good to see. Passion and determination like that is something the Sens have been missing in playoff years passed. Maybe Comrie has finally grown out of his locker room cancer days from Edmonton and Philadelphia.
