This is great news for the Pred faithful! Spending money to lock up some key players (Legwand) and the sell of the team going to the local group is now official. I would expect Erat and Dumont's signings to follow. Those two guys are key to that top line right now. Rads is not too far behind them. We better get him locked up before he becomes too hot of a commodity. There is a lot of talent that we need to get signed to long term deals in the D core as well. Then after those issues are cleared up we can go to the F.A. market and trades.
Rumour has it that A.Ovechkin is not setting well in the Caps "team" system. Can you imagine Rads and Ovechkin on the same line. That would be dangerous. Both offensively and defensively! You may score a lot with that line but, you may give up a lot as well.
Question: Would you want A.O. to be a Predator? I know that the chances would be slim and none because of $$$$$$$ but, its always fun to daydream!
I'll be back later to discuss the Preds current payroll situation and throw out some names that I think would be a good fit in the Preds system.
In the meantime, discuss your thoughts on the A.O. question and who is the priority signings that the Preds need to make, both currently on the team and some trade deadline moves.
Just commenting back on your blog to the question you posed for me. Hockey has definitely boomed since the inception of the blue jackets. There are a lot more rec leagues for adults and more children are playing it as well. It's fantastic to see. It'll be interesting to see where Alex goes. The rumors about him going o Montreal are quite strong. I feel bad for the Caps though. They hardly have anything now, and if he goes, there will be nothing there at all. Oh well, maybe something good will happen! Or maybe they'll be relocated or something...
