I'm no Leafs fan but if they fired Maurice I think that would be a mistake. Unfortunately I think that is exactly what's going to happen. JFJ'll try to ride a coaching change into a short term win streak that gets them back in the playoff picture and pushes the Sundin trade rumors to the back burner and takes the heat off of Junior until the season ends. Then he can try to get a stay on his execution.

Something is really wrong with the Leafs. they all but quit last night in the third period against the Ducks. There are too many good players on that team for them to be playing this bad. I say JFJ definitely has to go and probably Maurice although he's a good guy. Then you might as well see what you can get for Sundin. He's a hell of a player but he's being wasted right now.

I would not be amazed if they fired Maurice or JFJ, or both. They need to do something to shake the team up.

JFJ is gone, it's only a matter of timing. They need to trade Sundin and get as much as they can for him in the way of picks/prospects. Sundin will almost certainly resign in TO next year anyway. Lastly, they need to tank properly and get in a position to rebuild next year a la the Flyers. A 9th place finish or a vet for Sundin is the worst possible thing that could happen.

Trade Sundin (if he'll waive his NTC) fire Maurice after this season (its gone anyway) trade or buyout Blake, Kubina, and Raycroft. Fire Ferguson, and let a new GM start over, give him a couple years to turn the team around. The only problem is who do you get to run the show? Watching this game against LA, down 4-0 by the end of the first?! "Time to blow it up"

So I'm sitting here with my cable out and not able to watch the game which sucks!!!! I hate Rogers! Anyhow enough of the rant, so the consences seems to be that JFJ is living has last days as Leafs GM....Nice! Yes Lee I would love to see Stamkos in blue and white as well!

I think that they fire JFJ first then in the off season they hire a new coach. They have to get rid of JFJ so we can get high income for Sundin. JFJ sucks they will hire Muckler I bet. He has stated that he would love to GM again so im just guessing he is the man. He would be a good guy to have with trading sundin and to have in the draft.

You're cable was out? Lucky you. I stopped watching before the end of the first period. Just pathetic!The players have very obviously given up. Either that or they all started taking lessons at the Kyle Wellwood school of "do nothing, but still make people think you're special" shinny. I'm calling Bell Expressvu today to cancel my Leafs TV starting in February.Even the $1 a month extra I pay for it is just not worth it.

The moment they let Roberts and Al-mo walk, to leave Sundin high and dry, was when I knew they were not interested in winning. They should also not have given up top-notch prospects and picks for Nolan and Leetch for a playoff run that lasted 6 games (remember Roenick top shelf on Belfour in OT?). Sell MLSE to that Russian Billionaire, at least he will know more about hockey than freakin' Richard Pettie!

I am a Rnager fan, but I would love to see Leafs turn things around. I am also not in favor of trading people that have been with one organization their whole career (like Leetch - that one hurt).....but I think it is the right thing for your organization, just like it was the right thing for the Rangers at the time they traded Leetch, to move Mats and get as much for him as possible: 1) you can always get him back in the summer and 2) you will be able to stockpile valuable draft picks/young players by moving him. I would also try (although not sure it would be possible) to move Blake, they guy is NOT worth all that money. Good Leaf fans....I certainly understand your pain.
