The new schedule is out and you can view it on the sharks website. But I thought it might be nice to point out a few select dates and why they might be of interest to Sharks fans.
On October 17th, Eastern Conference powerhouse Philly visits. Sid the Kid (sorry, Captain Kid) and the mighty Pens visit the tank on Tuesday, October 28th in a Halloween preview. After all, how scary would it be to have the team that took it to the cup run visit us? Shortly after that on the 30th of October will come the reining Stanley Cup Champs, the Detroit Redwings. This team is tough and with minor changes to the team will take another run at the cup, I am sure.
In November 22nd we will get a quite a show when Ovechkin at the Caps will visit us. And, on the 26th, comes "love him or hate him" Brian Campbell and Captain Toews as the tough looking new Hawks come to town.
December 2nd marks the return of Ron Wilson with the revived Toronto Maple Leafs. Can Wilson drive this underachieving team to greatness? What will Sharks fans do with his return? Boo him? Cheer him?
January 13th marks the first visit by the fresh look Tampa Bay Lightning and the return of Carle and possibly Wishart. Can Major Mullet (Melrose) coach this stacked team into the playoffs this year. Most of the major players have been locked and loaded for years to come. How will Vinnie respond to his major new contract. Looks to be an exciting game.
Other exciting games to come this season as it looks to be a more balanced schedule of teams this year. The excitement is building and anticipation is killing me. Bring it on. Go Sharks!
good job pucked the sharks are going to be good
Thanks FLAMESTR. Looking forward to the upcoming season!
Hey Pucked! Good to see somebody else keeping the conversation on the Sharks alive besides myself! I'm actually looking forward to the first game the Sharks play against the Kings. I'm going to be at that one, attempting to counter all the booing that will be going on whenever JR or Blake touches the puck, but it's going to be a blast! And October 17th is my B-day, so we have to win the Philly game ;)
Thanks SoCalSharksGirl. Yeah, I am going into shock with no news. Other than you and Dave Pollak, there has been no news. While I realize the 3 main bloggers have a life outside of this, I am dissapointed with our coverage. Enjoy the game and the birthday game. As a former season ticket holder for 12 years, I will probably not get to a gem until around Christmas. Oh well, there is always CSNBA...
