Enver Lisin is now a NY Ranger. He comes from Phoenix for Lauri Korpikoski, who never hit his stride as a Ranger. Lisin netted 13 goals and put up 8 helpers on a financialy troubled and offensively lousy Coyotes team. In my opinion it is a great move by Glen Sather. Lisin is an RFA and can be used as trade bait to lure in the #1 center to feed Gaborik the puck. I do believe this was to create trade bait and to me, it looks like major wheels may be in motion.
To a new topic for the moment, the Rangers resigned RFA forward Ryan Callahn to a two year deal worth $4.6 million, a cap hit of $2.3 million. Callahan led the Rangers in plus minus with a +7 rating and led the team in hits with 236; 4th in the NHL. Cally netted 22 and added 18 helpers to set career highs in both categories.
The possibilities of Heatley wearing a blueshirt are slim to none. Sather is angry with the Senators for requesting Dubinsky to the package, and I don't blame him. Heatley doesn't have the Torts attitude anyway, so don't picture Heatley on the Garden Ice anytime soon.....
It seems to me that Lisin could be dealt in a package for a Dman or a center.
Consider these options......
Rozsival, Lisin, Zherdev, 2010 3rd round to the Stars for Brad Richards.
Zherdev, Lisin to the Bruins for Ward and Whitfield.
Zherdev, Lisin, Potter, 2010 3rd round to the Thrashers for Bryan Little and Borris Valabik
Let me know what you guys think
I'm not sure Atl would do that but that one is the most appealing of the three. Although he is more of a goal scorer, I would prefer to add a younger player with a smaller cap hit.
Lisin is gonna stay a ranger.he adds the dangled depth.potential to be something special now that he is away from the Yotes.
