Idk if I want Heatley anymore but he sure as hell would make a fine addition to the team! Let me know if this deal is fair......

We would have killer lines if this was made. We sign Francis Bouillon at 1.2 for 2 years and Brandon Dubinsky at 2 years, 2 million and we are right against the cap.

If Redden has another bad year then we trade him for a pick or prospect or we buy out his contract. That money goes into resigning Staal and Girardi. After the season, given we get Heatley, we will have about 6 million of cap space to start the offseason. Trade Redden for a pick and we have 12.5 million of cap space. Girardi gets resigned for 2.5 million over 4 years and Staal at 3 million for 3 years. This leaves us with 7 million of cap space to maybe sign a cheap Redden repalcement or maybe someone not too expensive, but available, like Alex Frolov or Olli Jokinen.
So all of you panickers out there, stop worrying, the New York Rangers are fine and have the right tools to be a contender if Heatley is accquired
