Lombardi, Prospect Camp, etc...

First, my apologies to David Poile and all of those in Predland that were offended by my last entry/rant. Now that my blood pressure has returned to acceptable levels and my wife and I are speaking to each other again, let us get back to the point at hand. I give David Poile an "A" for the Matthew Lombardi signing, 10.5 over 3 years, not bad for this caliber of player. If he stays healthy, Lombardi will make most of us forget about the former captain. The 28 year-old Lombardi posted 19 goals and 34 assists in 78 games for Phoenix last season. Those 53 points placed him 3rd on a team that ended up making the playoffs, but wasn't in the best situation ownershipwise and had a new coach that replaced the "Great One". Hopefully, Matthew can come in and get comfortable with the area quickly. He and Coach Trotz supposedly have a good relationship already.
I heard yesterday that the Preds have signed Sergei Kostitsyn to a contract for next season. My advice to Serg is simple. Please relax and have a good time this year. You probably aren't going to find a better group of teammates in the league, and you certainly aren't going to find better fans who will support you night in and night out. This isn't Montreal and you have no one here to impress but yourself. Big brother isn't here and the Canadian press are far, far away. Here's hoping you have a great year (30+ goals and 70+ points would be nice) and prove everyone in the Great White North wrong.
Lastly, prospect camp opened this week, #3 child and I are planning on attending on Saturday just to get and up close look at the future of the franchise.
