The following is a breakdown of potential Bruins trade bait and some thoughts for why this could be. Let's assume right off the bat the the bruins don't move either of their 1st round picks for the next draft.

1. Chris Kelly: He adds some leadership value to a 4th line group, he's pretty good on defensive zone faceoffs and plays well on the PK. 3M cap hit seems to much for the Bruins to swallow at the moment given the young talent they need to see play for the big club. The Bruins have established leaders in Chara/Bergeron and even Marchand to some extent. Kelly could easily fit into a system like Edmontons where they don't have a lot of veteran experience at the forward position. Given he's NTC he'll be a little more difficult to move but he's on the last year of his deal and not likely to be be re-signed and could exlpore the option of moving to a contender or somwhere that will be willing to give him a 2-3 year extension. If something floats there way with reasonable return he's a no brainer to ship off. Hopefully moving him for young prosepct of draft selections to provide the B's with some cap relief.

2. Dennis Seidenberg: He had the ability to play 2nd pairing minutes, but age and injury seem to be slowing down the German work horse. with some term left at decent money (4M) he could be a good on 2nd pairing set on a roster with some younger Dmen. he needs a quick partner as he seems to have lost a step since the injury. He can play a good roll as a shutdown kind of guy but doens't really fit into the Bruins future plans. He's already said he would waive his no trade claus if approaced by the management. His return again picks and some prospects, and would provide some cap relief to sign/trade for a top 2 dman.

3. Loui Ericksson: Provides a good second line winger to any team. plays a good two way game and gets some point production. Last year of his deal at 4.25M and is likely going to be looking for something north of 5.5M with some term on his next deal. He's a bit on the softer side of how the Bruins feel their forwards should play and his offensicve numbers dropped a bit since leaving dallas. whether it's an offseas move or trade deadline move I can see them moving Ericksson to avoid him walking away as a UFA next summer. He would good a good return given he's reliable/dependable and still has some point production. We'd hope to get a pick and serviceable body in return for a trade with Loui.

Honourable mentions: Chara (sent to a contender to win a 2nd ring), David Krecji (7.25M is a lot for someone so injury prone/needs more regular season production)

Dead weight: Zac Rinaldo, Adam Mcquaid

Agreed on Rinaldo he is dead weight. That move still baffles me. With Kelly perhaps of the Bruins retain 1M of salary he becomes moveable.
