Oh Bruins My Bruins

It is truly a painful year to be a Boston Bruins fan, but that doesn't mean you leave your team in hard times. However, I have some displeasures with how this team has ended up.

Bruce Cassidy and his Bruins have played three games, ending up with the current record of 1 win, 1 loss, and 1 overtime loss. This team needs a serious shake-up, they do not have a single even-strength yet. Whether or not Pastrnak is in the lineup, Boston is not a contender anymore like they once were. Some of the core in Marchand, Bergeron, Krejci, and Rask is getting into the final years of their careers. Don Sweeney hasn't signed any stars in free-agency to address their issues at right-wing and now defense. The Bruins issues at RW have been a problem for them especially when dealt with injuries, the Bruins need additional depth and help. The big bad Bruins of the past are now angry teddy bears, seriously though, this team lacks the toughness they once had.

Let's not forget that Boston has made multiple deep playoff runs since 2011 with 2 Stanley Cup final appearances notably. I really hope Sweeney has a plan to bring this team back to the hard-hitting, playoff appearing, and Stanley Cup-winning team. If there isn't a plan, then Bruins fans alongside myself are in for a rough stretch.
