It all started during the regular season when teams complained to the NHL about Boogie going out and stretching out during the TV timeouts, they said he was trying to intimidate their team so the league asked Boogie to take a seat while the Fans of Minnesota watched other teams tough guys who are 2 inches smaller stretch their limbs at will during all of the TV timeouts. That is not right for two reasons, the first being it’s a textbook definition of discrimination, and the second being even if Boogaard was intimidating it is allowed in the NHL. It would take allot to convince me otherwise since I am at the games.

To make matters worse Boogie was not given equal rights to play in the playoff series against the Ducks, the referees took Boogie out of the series by making foolish penalty calls that instant replay showed were not penalties at all. Meanwhile the Ducks punched, crosschecked, charged, used sneaky obstruction maneuvers, and sucked players like Brent Burns in to his first two NHL fights in his career. Yet when Boogie even touched a Duck player a penalty was called. This may not be a big deal if you have several physical players on your team, but the Wild play a game that is favored by its Wild fans, and Boogie is needed to help protect his teammates and play a physical game in that system. The league and its officials did not respect that, or Boogie, and that I hope have them thinking about doing the right thing in the future

Fans in Minnesota do not like to be insulted, and to be made a fool of by such ridiculous breach of hockey rules that were allowed in that series... It would have been nice to have Boogie, becasue he allows the Wilds many offensive threats room to move on the ice

It's probably not right, but you tend to get a reputation as a trouble maker when you spend more time in the box than on the ice in 20% of your games.
