What a performance by Fleury. In a game that the Penguins could have easily lost, Marc Andre was the difference. I think his play this afternoon speaks volumes about his maturity as a goaltender. While he may not be seasoned yet, he is definitely mature enough to backstop the Penguins throughout their playoff run. Don't get me wrong, a confident Thibault is good to have in the holster, but Fleury is our guy.
So a few quick thoughts on the game:
-What an emotional rollercoaster! I haven't witnessed a game where I felt the gamut of emotions that intensely for a long, long time.
-Sidney Crosby is clutch. We all knew he was in the regular season, but he's proving he is in the playoffs. That goal he scored off of the shaft of his stick was money, so money.
-Can Gary Roberts be any bigger of a thorn in the side of the Senators? What a great acquistion by Shero.
-How about Jarkko Ruutu bullriding that Senator? Hilarious, but such a stupid, stupid penalty to take.
-Speaking of penalties...seemed like a few weak calls against Pittsburgh and some missed ones both ways.
-I have a new respect for Daniel Alfredsson as a player. He's super good.
I think tomorrow's game will be way less intense, and will probably come down to which team is conditioned best and who gets the lucky bounces. LETS GO PENS!
