The Dallas Stars finally came to play tonight. They outworked Colorado consistently, shut Colorados powerplay down, and manhandled them at even strength. The Morrow/Modano/Richards line was electric at times, but the Hagman/Ribeiro/Miettinen looked flat at times. I barely noticed Ribeiro on the ice. Dallas simply outworked Colorado tonight. Dave Tippett's message to his team in practice has been that work has to come before the teams skill. Dallas began the game working hard which led to them winning the individual puck battles and leading in shots 10-4 at the 11:30 mark of the 1st period. Boucher is out for 3 weeks

Philippe Boucher, according to the Ticket, is out for 3 weeks with a partially seperated left shoulder. He previously had been out with a right shoulder injury. I love Boucher, but if he's going to be out for 3 more weeks how is this team going to be able to get full chemistry before the playoffs? Bad news. Read More »

There were two keys that I pinpointed for this game coming in: Turco had to outplay Bryzgalov and the penalty kill needed to stay off the ice.
