Anatomy of a Hockey Buzzard:

HockeyPuckusBuzzardus: a fascinating species of modern day hockey fan often found in their native habitat of the HockeyBuzz site, www.hockeybuzz.com. When not chasing, discussing or arguing rumors, they are known to frequent such places as the chat room, the forums, various fantasy games and read blogs from other writers. When not at HockeyBuzz, the HockeyPuckusBuzzardus can be found listening to XM radio 204 for hockey information or in front of a television with the, so-called, Center Ice package.

While predominantly male in origin, there are noted members of the female pursuasion - specifically but not limited to Flufflet, TKC, RPR, Lady Nic and Jules Robenhymer. The female HockeyPuckusBuzzardus is a rare breed and through intimate knowledge of the finer points of the umbrealla power play, they gain acceptance by the male of the species. Some females of the species are so enamored with the game that they tend to display some rather peculiar behavior, as shown:

The fearless leader of the HockeyPuckusBuzzardus is an oft shadowed figure known only as EK. EK has helpers of many colors - red, green and purple - who tirelessly create, maintain and police the on-line home of the HockeyPuckusBuzzardus. For this we are all thankful. The HockeyPuckusBuzzardus would, likely, not survive if the natural habitiat of www.hockeybuzz.com did not exist. The maintenance, preservation and growth of that natural habitat is the most noble of conservation efforts. That effort is spearheaded by the Season Ticket.

The HockeyPuckusBuzzardus is known to frequent an oval, ice covered surface to watch his/her favorite team play. While most professional hockey is played indoors, there is the unique occasion for the species to witness a game in the environs in which the game was intended.

While hard to confirm with any certainty, the HockeyPuckusBuzzardus is said to often consume a liquid consisting of ground beans from a coffee plant run through hot water and/or a beverage created by the fermentation of sugars derived from starch-based material - the most common being malted barley. The latter is most often found used in conjunction with the abovementioned Center Ice package or hockey rink and tends to congregate in numbers of six or 24. Apparently the most preferred kind of beer is

Many of the HockeyPuckusBuzzardi actually play the game and feel very strongly about its place in their lives. It has been noted that many would go to extreme measures to allow them to carry on this ritual. Some of these ice hockey playing HockeyPuckusBuzzardi even begin to regard other athletes differently.

If you see a HockeyPuckusBuzzardus in person or on-line, be sure to introduce yourself. They won't bite - much.

Add a couple of more tags, say "SYF" (or "steal_your_faceoff"), "fans", or "fanatics"...something. If I want to reference this, I won't remember to look under "hockeybuzzard"(Sure hope they can upgrade MHB someday so that we can search by author and/or date in addition to keywords.)Speaking of that, why don't all MHB authors use their username as one of the tags? Is there a limit to number of tags per blog?

Nice blog SYF. I have to comment on the Hayden Pennetierre (not sure of spelling) picture with the cup. Being as she is right around my age, I adore this girl. Now I see her kissing the greatest trophy in sports, just WOW!. The question I find myself asking is which side of that pic I would rather be on. To kiss Hayden? Or to kiss Lord Stanley's Cup? Both would be unbelievable. In a perfect world, i would like to be right in the middle to do both! haha. keep up the great blogs
