...has the Sharks at 7th place in the Western Conference, one point away from being left out of the playoff picture again.

The high-scoring affair got started at 7:08 of the first period, when Kyle Brodziak scored a power play goal for the Wild. Joe Thornton later tied it on a San Jose power play to make it 1-1 after 20 minutes.

The second period picked back up where the first left off, with Devin Setoguchi scoring 2:57 in. Goals also came from Mikko Koivu and Patrick Marleau for a 3-2 lead favoring the Sharks after 40.

In the third period the Wild scored three unanswered goals in a span of 5:21 from Chuck Kobasew, Brent Burns, and Kyle Brodziak for a 5-3 Minnesota final.

Game Notes:

Brandon Mashinter played his first career NHL game tonight with the Sharks, finishing with 3 hits, 1 blocked shot, and -1 in 7:17 of ice time.

Dan Boyle played 28:39 vs Minnesota, and now leads the league in ice time.

Joe Thornton played his 950th NHL game.

My Picks For The Sharks 3 Stars:

1: Ryane Clowe (2 assists, 7 shots)
2: Joe Thornton (goal, assist, 1 shot)
3: Dan Boyle (assist, 5 shots)
