The Sharks powered past a 2nd period breakdown to beat the Chicago Blackhawks for the third time in three tries this season. It's refreshing to see the team pull together late instead of bowing to defeat, and as a reward they gather an important two points that put them in 5th place in the West as they head to Los Angeles to play the weary Kings for the second time this week.

...has the Sharks at 7th place in the Western Conference, one point away from being left out of the playoff picture again.
The high-scoring affair got started at 7:08 of the first period, when Kyle Brodziak scored a power play goal for the Wild. Joe Thornton later tied it on a San Jose power play to make it 1-1 after 20 minutes.

Everyone is back from their Christmas break, and getting into the rythm of the hockey season again- except for the Sharks, who looked like their heads were still in the midst of the holiday hustle and bustle. A third period collapse by the Sharks leads them to a losing record for the 8th separate time this season, putting them back outside the playoff picture at 9th in the conference and 4th in the division.

Questionable Call Leads To A Sharks SO Loss

A non-call on a Logan Couture shootout goal mixed with a poor shootout effort to spell the Sharks 15th loss of the season, putting them back on the .500 line.
The game got off to a slow start, but at 6:17 Jamie Benn broke the tie, giving Dallas a 1-0 lead through 20 minutes.
