Preseason Thoughts Thus Far...

Posted September 20, 2007
Having just sat through 12 hours on campus, and 6 hours of class, I really don't think I can be all that eloquent right now; however, I will just summarize what I've seen from the Leafs in both yesterday's 3-2 OT loss to Edmonton, and tonight's 3-2 win over Phoenix. HOT: The Blake/Sundin/Antropov line. This line had a great showing tonight, and was solid on the PP. I will admit, Jason Blake has... Read More »

Amended Predictions

Posted September 10, 2007
I made some NHL predictions awhile back; however, I made some small changes. I think that Carolina is more likely to make the playoffs than Philadelphia, and that I underestimated Washington and Dallas slightly; thus, I've made some changes to my tentative predictions. These are my FINAL predictions for the year. Book them. EASTERN CONFERENCE: 1) New York Rangers (51-22-9; 111) 2) Ottawa Sena... Read More »

Video of the Day

Posted August 30, 2007
With little to discuss between now and the preseason, when hockey begins again, I thought I'd begin a feature called "Video of the Day", which features some great moments from the Leafs 2006-07 season. But how good or bad will they be? What influence will they hold over the team? Time to look at the pros and cons of Toronto's offseason pickups. Mike Peca: A Preventable Loss

Posted August 23, 2007
With news that Michael Peca will be heading to the Columbus Blue Jackets, the blame definitely lies on the shoulders of JFJ. In Peca, the Leafs have lost a top-notch penalty killer, one-time Selke winner, and a guy who can play a solid defensive game; in other words, he was the kind of player the Leafs desperately needed. In Matt Stajan and Alex Steen, the Leafs have two young players who co... Read More »

-My first memory, going to my first Leafs game when I was 6, a 4-2 win over the San Jose Sharks in Game 7 of the 1994 Semifinals.-The Leafs run to the Cup in 2002, in spite of numerous injuries, and the solid play of Gary Roberts and Alyn McCauley in those playoffs.
