I spoke with Stu Siegel today, former Long Islander and current owner of the Florida Panthers.
Stu set the bar for NHL owners by donating $10,000 to the Japan relief fund.
follow him on twitter @StuSiegel . Tell him you heard about his donation and send him some love.
I hope my NY Islanders step up.
Lets see what the other owners do.
There is a time for fun and a time to be serious. Hockey is a great sport but it takes a back seat to the catastrophe that took place in Japan and the thousands of lives lost.
I donated $500, Stu Siegel donated $10,000. We as humans should do all we can to help. We should encourage our team owners to also do their part.
The hockey community is small enough that we can spread the word and make a difference. Maybe pick up a fe fans along the way. Either way, there is no excuse for not dong the right thing!
I usually give you crapp about the articles you write but this is a good one (along with the one about the prudential center). Glad to see people giving to japan in this time of need! Good job!
panthers fans will disagree with you...
I usually disagree with what you say but I keep coming back to read it because you are actually a good writer, just your views and opinions are usually wrong is all. The donations are cool, glad someone brought it into the light too bad you don't hear about it on sportscentre in the morning.
