Here are five positive things I will take away from a lockout, in descending order
5: The New Jersey Devils will save about 3 million dollars every two weeks in player's salaries. This should help them make their loan payments...seeing how four rounds of extra playoff revenue did not seem to to the job.
4: Vancouver have an extra year to work out a deal with Toronto for Roberto Luongo. Last I heard the Leafs were offering to take his horrible contract off of Vancouver's hands, while Vancouver are holding out for Kessel, Gardiner, a couple of first round picks and Brian Burke's left testicle.
3: No Head Shots. No more Brendan Shanahan videos...unless Fehr slugs Bettman.
2: No All-Star Game or Winter Classic!
1: There goes another year of the Gomez contract. Only one year left!
Food for thought...just how bad off financially would the Devils be if they got knocked out in the first round. What exactly were they counting on, eight or nine rounds of playoff revenue?
You may as well let me run the team. I doubt I could do any worse.
I think the Leafs should counter with both of Burkie's nuts!
I actually respect Burkie not signing or taking on any ridiculous contracts. Why start now?
