I thought this would be fun to see where everyone stands on this.
SO, do you think Mathews will go the way of Sundin? A great player who drives and leads play on the ice, but ultimately doesn't win a cup for them? Or is he going to take it home eventually a la Ovechkin.
While they are entirely different players, both were stars on their respective teams and were the focus of the franchise.
So, will Matthews be the one to take home a cup? Or will he go the Mats route of a great personal career, but limited hardware in his trophy case.
Matthews is arguably much better, his team is much, much better, but is it enough? The league overall has improved drastically. The parity Bettman once hoped for is now here, and here to stay,
I personally think he is going to be like Ovechkin and have to grind it out for his cup, but he will get one in the later stages of his career. He's too good and the Leafs are much better run. No JFJ to destroy the sleep of Leaf fans these days.
What do you think?
No. They could not be more opposite in style of play, and personalitites. Matthews puts up mid 30's in assists every year, and is a bonifide sniper. His two-way game is certainly lacking, and you won't see him working/grinding behind the net 1/10th as much as Mats did. Mats never had the same support Matthews does. The Kid is surrounded by great players and he certainly has a better shot at bringing the cup home then Mats ever had. Personality wise, Mats never got caught with his pants down, literally, like matthews when he forced his way into that security guards car (and she was a PTSD War Vet). I can't stand the kids attitude. Fantastic sniper, but I just can cheer for this guy. I don't see how you can say Matthews is much better at this point in his career? 4 seasons in and his career high is 80 points.....Mats had 103 points his sophmore year. 18 seasons in the NHL and Mats lowest 3rd worst assist total is higher than Matthews best season....Matthews can't be getting comparisons to OV either. None of his first 4 seasons can even touch OV, and OV still outscored the kid as a 35 year old this past season. He'd better start notching a few 70 goal seasons if this is a real discussion. In no way are they similar, other then the fact that they wore Leafs Jerseys. I feel that this is click bait, and you are very obviously a man who purchased a Matthews jersey.
I do actually say they are entirely different players above. I merely allude to them being the focus of their franchise while playing for their respective teams. Same as well for the OV comment. Im not saying he is Ovechkin, i'm saying he will have to wait to the later stages of his career to get a cup. It won't come quickly, he will have to play his way there. As for buying a Matthews jersey, Im a Habs fan as my icon indicates. Though I love Sundin when he played and hated that he got nothing for his efforts. Though I can agree Matthews is not the character guy Sundin is and is helped greatly by a much better team.
Wait, Toronto hasn't won the past 5 Cups???
Accidentally i have come across this website and am a little bit confused about the details shared here. Do you think Mathews really https://prodigystoploss.com/underwriting-services/ will go the way of sundin? I think here they have shared very few details regarding the game. I am looking here for more updates.
Guys like Sundin are types that win Cups, not one-dimensional kids. Even Ovi, who eventually developed a two-way game of sorts, didn't win until that happened for one reason or another. But the comparison is otherwise flawed, in that the Caps were a powerhouse for a decade prior to winning. It's hard to do that. The Leafs are Team Millennial, and it shows.
"Guys like Sundin are types that win Cups"? Hey DeuceNine, this just in: the guy most like Sundin never won a Cup so your theory seems a bit flawed.
This seems like a reasonable question to ask regarding a player in his 30's, with maybe 3 years left in the tank. Asking if a guy is going to win a cup with his 15 remaining seasons requires a lot of foresight.
I loved Sundin, but he never played for the Leafs the way he played for Sweden in the Olympics.
I don't think so. But it is not predictable. There is a chance for both. Who can predict such things? But I came here to know other's opinions and I organic vegan cbd oil got wonder after reading those and I am so curious now to know the decision that he made.
Is it more or are these bots sort of getting a bit smarter? Obviously still bots, but they seem to offer more opinions then before, and before they get to their "point"
Ill disagree that this current Leafs team is much much better than those Sundin teams.
These Bots are storming the lowly HockeyBuzz for sure.
Sundin, at least so far, was superior to Matthews in most ways. As far as goal scoring, Matthews is better but not by much. Also the respective leaf teams in regards to talent weren't that far off from each other either. The only thing I can agree with about your article is "The league overall has improved drastically".
