-Everyone goes out of their way to credit Anaheim's turnaround to the return of
Scott Niedermayer. Why has no one pinned their lousy start on the fact he sat home for the first 20-some games?
-Speaking of which, since veteran players can apparently take off a ton of games at the start of the year, why all the uproar about going to 84 games?
-Which all-star(s) will go into the tank in the second half?
-Am I the only one who liked it better when Fastest Skater competitors skated around the rink?
-Why does "family friendly" automatically mean "next to no camera time for the Ice Girls"?
-How funny would it be to see
Bob Clarke selected as the next GM of the Leafs?
-How much longer can
Les Jackson keep
Brett Hull's itchy trigger-finger at bay?
-With the Rangers starting next year in Prague, wouldn't it be interesting if
Jaromir Jagr wasn't a Blueshirt by then?
-
Rod Gilbert, check.
Eddie Giacomin, check.
Mike Richter, check.
Mark Messier, check.
Brian Leetch, check.
Adam Graves...? Graves was a popular and effective Ranger, but does his number really
belong in the rafters at MSG?
-Thanks to
Alex Ovechkin in the Skills Competition, and
Rick Nash and (in the US, anyway) great in-game audio from
Rick DiPietro and
Manny Legace, the big question from All-Star Weekend is:
Sidney who?
I fully agree with you. I liked the skaters going around the rink, the rare ice girl sighting, and all the commentary with the players. Here's another question why was it necessary to have Mr. Bettman on to spew his bs for half of the third period? If he spoke like a human and not a corporate honcho I would appreciate him more. Let me get back on topic. Great blog and overall great weekend.
Got to love AO. The Caps are so very fortunate to have him, for many reasons.
One burning question...What the hell is that growing on my....
