So I already did this for Simon Gagne, now it's time to do it for the rest of the Flyers, what the possible milestones are and whether or not I think they'll make it. These could all easily be determined by whether there are any big injuries to these players, so I will refrain from writing that in every response.
Arron Asham:
Needs two games to reach 500 in the NHL:
He'll get this milestone- 2 games are pretty easy to play in.
Bryan Berard:
Needs 81 games to reach 700 in the NHL:
Berard has on played all 82 games once, in the 01-02 season. I don't see him making this milestone, probably more likely for the 09-10 season.
Martin Biron:
Needs 22 games to reach 400 in the NHL:
Biron will definitely make this milestone. He just came off a 62 games played season. As long as there are no major injuries, it wont be a problem.
Needs 22 games to reach 100 as a Flyer:
Once again, this goal will easily be reached, see above.
Needs 30 wins to reach 200 in the NHL:
Biron should be able to hit this one. He just came off a season with 30 wins. Assuming the team as a whole has gotten better than last season, which I believe it has, this milestone will be reached.
Needs two shutouts to reach 25 in the NHL (NHL Milestone):
Once again, this milestone will unquestionably be reached. Biron is coming off a season with 5 shutouts, and I believe he will easily surpass that this season.
Danny Briere:
Needs 38 games to reach 600 in the NHL:
The last time Briere played less than 30 games was when he was bouncing back between the NHL and AHL. Because he is obviously in the NHL to stay, he will be reaching the milestone.
Needs 21 games to reach 100 as a Flyer:
He will reach this milestone, see above.
Needs seven goals to reach 200 in the NHL:
Briere has scored atleast 20 goals in his last four seasons, this milestone will easily be reached.
Needs 45 assists to reach 300 in the NHL:
This on is questionable. As a Flyer last season, he had only 41 assists. However the season before he had 63 assists. Last season, we did not get much opportunity to see the chemistry between Briere and Gagne, however with a line of those two plus Mike Richards- i definitely see this being reached.
Needs 59 assists to reach 100 as a Flyer:
This one is also a little iffy. I do not think he will reach this. However, because it is very hard to judge because we haven't seen Briere and Gagne together enough to judge how they will be.
Needs 52 points to reach 500 in the NHL:
Briere will reach this. He has reached at least 52 points in the last 4 seasons, I don't see him slowing down that pace.
Needs 28 points to reach 100 as a Flyer:
He will reach this, see above.
Jeff Carter:
Needs 75 games to reach 300 in the NHL and as a Flyer:
I could see Carter making this. He just came off of a season where he did not miss a single game. Also, his first full NHL season he only missed one game.
Needs 34 goals to reach 100 in the NHL and as a Flyer:
This is possible. He has yet to put up such goal numbers, but he now has three NHL season under his belt and is ready to show us what he's got. I think he'll get it.
Needs 34 assists to reach 100 in the NHL and as a Flyer:
This one is equally dependent on what improvements he's made. I think Carter may be coming into a career year this season, so it could happen.
Needs 68 points to reach 200 in the NHL and as a Flyer:
If Carter reaches the two previous Milestones this one will also be reached. Once again, I think Carter has shown great improvement over the last three seasons and will only show us more.
Coburn:
Needs 64 games to reach 200 in the NHL:
Lasts season Coburn played in 78 games in his first full NHL season. The season before he played 49 NHL games and 15 AHL games. I think Coburn should be capable of reaching this.
Needs two games to reach 100 as a Flyer:
Will reach, see above.
Riley Cote:
Needs 22 games to reach 100 in the NHL and as a Flyer:
Cote will reach this easily, he just came off a season where he played 70 games.
Steve Downie:
Needs 68 games to reach 100 in the NHL and as a Flyer:
Downie spent last season bouncing back and forth between the Flyers and Phantoms. He was also a healthy scratch for many games. He has majored as a player and lost quite a bit of weight to prepare for this season. I think Downie will play his first full NHL season this year, and will reach the milestone.
Scott Hartnell:
Needs 20 games to reach 100 as a Flyer:
Hartnell will reach this. In his 7 NHL seasons he has always played atleast 59 games.
Needs 46 points to reach 300 in the NHL:
Last season Hartnell had 43 points. Getting 46 points would prove to be his second best season. I believe Hartnell can reach this milestone.
Needs 57 points to reach 100 as a Flyer:
I do not think this will be reached, see above.
Derian Hatcher:
Needs 55 games to reach 1,100 in the NHL:
Hatcher is starting the year on injured reserve, I believe Hatcher has played in his last NHL game, he will not reach this.
Randy Jones:
Needs 30 games to reach 200 in the NHL and as a Flyer:
Jones has played two full season in the NHL and has played in at least 66 games in each. He will reach this milestone.
Needs 39 points to reach 100 in the NHL and as a Flyer:
Jones has yet to reach 39 points in a season. However, he proved to have improved greatly from the 06-07 season to the 07-08 going from 22 points to 31 points respectively. If he shows equal improvement, he will get this.
Mike Knuble:
Needs 62 games to reach 800 in the NHL:
In three seasons with the Flyers Knuble has never played less than 62 games. Two of which season he played all 82 games. This will be reached.
Needs 12 goals to reach 200 in the NHL:
This will be easily reached as Knuble has scored 24 or more goals as a Flyer.
Needs 13 goals to reach 100 as a Flyer:
Will reach, see above.
Needs six assists to reach 200 in the NHL:
The last time Knuble only got six assists was in a season with the Bruins where he only played 54 games. He will easily reach this milestone.
Needs 13 assists to reach 100 as a Flyer:
He will reach this. His lowest assist total as a Flyer was 26 last season.
Needs 18 points to reach 400 in the NHL:
This will be easily reached as hes had 54 or more points in each of his 3 seasons as a Flyer.
Needs 26 points to reach 200 as a Flyer:
Will reach, see above.
Lasse Kukkonen:
Needs 27 games to reach 100 as a Flyer:
Kukkonen played 53 games last season and 74 NHL games the season before. He'll reach this easily.
Needs 63 games to reach 200 in the NHL:
This one is a little more questionable. Kukkonen was often a healthy scratch last season. However, a new season changes everything. I believe as long as he proves to have improved his game, he should be playing in at least 63 games.
Joffery Lupul:
Needs seven games to reach 300 in the NHL:
Seven games is a given, he'll reach it
Needs 44 games to reach 100 as a Flyer:
Lupul missed the most games in any of his NHL seasons last year, playing on 56 games. This still gets the total. In the other three season he played in he only missed 9 games between the three.
Needs 23 goals to reach 100 in the NHL:
Lupul has not put up such numbers since the 05-06 season with the Ducks. He showed improvement over the entire season last year, and will definetly bring his A-game this year, he'll reach this.
Needs 16 assists to reach 100 in the NHL:
Lupul only put up less than 16 assists in his first season in the NHL, this will easily be reached.
Needs 39 points to reach 200 in the NHL:
Lupul ended the season with 46 point last season, he'll reach it.
Needs 54 points to reach 100 as a Flyer:
This one would be Lupuls highest points in a season. Being that he has four full seasons under his belt, I think he'll get it.
Glen Metropolit:
Needs 38 games to reach 300 in the NHL:
Metropolit played the last three seasons as full NHL season and has yet to play fewer than 38 games, he'll reach it.
Needs 22 assists to reach 100 in the NHL:
Last season Metropolit had 22 assists. Because I have yet to see him play as a Flyer, it's hard to tell. But based on his numbers, he should.
Ryan Parent:
Needs 77 games to reach 100 in the NHL and as a Flyer:
Parent spent most of the season with the Phantoms last year. This season he should be playing primarily with the Flyers. If that's the case- he will make this milestone.
Mike Richards:
Needs eight assists to reach 100 in the NHL and as a Flyer:
I feel this isn't even worse explaining whether he'd make this...it's obvious- he'll reach it.
Needs 59 points to reach 200 in the NHL and as a Flyer:
Richards just came off a 70 point season and has shown us nothing but improvements since he put on a Flyers jersey. Being names captain will only fuel his play more- he'll reach this.
Needs six shorthanded goals to reach 18 as a Flyer, tying him for seventh
place on the Flyers All-Time List (with Rod Brind’Amour):
Richards has yet to reach six shorthanded goals in a season, but if anyone is going to- it will be Mike Richards.
Kimmo Timonen:
Needs 20 games to reach 100 as a Flyer:
Timonen has never played less than 20 in an NHL season- he'll reach it.
Needs 47 games to reach 700 in the NHL:
He also has never played less than 47, once again he'll reach it.
Needs 13 goals to reach 100 in the NHL:
Timonens number have shown to fluctuate between over 13 and under 13. Being that he is getting a little on the older side, and only had 8 goals last season, I don't think he'll reach this.
Needs 42 assists to reach 300 in the NHL:
Assists have proven to be Timonens stong point in the stats. He will definitely reach this.
Needs 55 points to reach 400 in the NHL:
After coming off a 44 point season, This one is a little tough. Being that he is already at a steady pace of play and not improving much, I don't think he'll reach it.
Needs 56 points to reach 100 as a Flyer.
I don't think he'll reach this, see above.
Scottie Upshall:
Needs 21 games to reach 100 as a Flyer:
Since being a steady NHL player, Upshall has never played less than 21. Therefore, he'll reach it.
Needs 44 games to reach 200 in the NHL:
Upshall just came off a 61 games played season. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't reach this milestone.
Needs 28 points to reach 100 in the NHL:
Upshall had 30 points last season which, I believe will only improve. He'll reach it.
Ossi Vaananen:
Needs 70 games to reach 500 in the NHL:
Vaananen has only had two season where he played less than 70. He should reach this milestone.
