Before I start with the call-ups, I wanted to mention the game the Blues played last night against Philadelphia. This is exactly the type of game the Blues' fans were expecting to see from the Blues coming out of the All-Star Break. The Blues showed heart, intensity, desire, and passion...something that seemed to appear obsolete against Ottawa Thursday night. With the exception of the game earlier this season in Nashville, this was perhaps Chris Mason's best game between the pipes for the Blues. An outstanding effort from a goaltender that has not gotten the offensive support he has needed when in net. Hopefully, they can keep this going when they face Detroit in the Joe Monday night.
Now, back to the original topic at hand.
The Blues called up defensemen Andy Wozniewski and Steve Wagner from Peoria today. With the road trip the Blues go on starting Monday, and the abundance of games packed into the next month or two, the Blues needed to add a body or two to the lineup.
Wagner has played in 27 games with Peoria this season, tallying four goals and 12 assists, along with 23 penalty minutes. Wozniewski has skated in 43 games with Peoria this season, notching no goals and 12 assists, along with 40 penalty minutes.
