Sources tell TSN the Toronto Maple Leafs have received what the team considers to be a significant offer for defenceman Tomas Kaberle.
There are few details available, however the offer arrived unexpectedly Thursday afternoon and is believed to be from one of the teams who may have been in the hunt, trying to acquire the negotiating rights to Florida's Jay Bouwmeester.
Toronto had originally intended on holding on to Kaberle until after the July 1 free agent frenzy in hope of attracting a better package from a team that wasn't able to land a free agent defenceman.
Sources say the Leafs are seriously considering the offer while waiting to see what other interest materializes in the coming hours.
Is burke just looking to get more interest?? Maybe a better deal??

04 Draft Day

It would be pretty nice to see the Leafs score another top-10 first round pick of this years draft while keeping the 7th. With the rumblings from this morning, it sounds like Atlanta. So 4th and 7th is good if 1-2-3 are not available.
Reasons to drop Kab are that he's in his prime and the Leafs aren't there yet. So any team with a high draft pick (ie who aren't contenders) would be off. Burke's trying to trade up. I think Burke's trying to find out if he can trade the 7th and whatever draft pick(s) he'd get for Kaberle for picks 1-5. I may be Biased, but i think it's Philly.
I'm hoping he can swing a pick 11-20 and pick up Simon Depres or Zack Kassian.
Ya i know its a copy and paste, wont deny that...I was looking for some reaction. On TSN most people just complain about another story about the Leafs. And i agree with Flyler Burke is gonna try for a nother pick...though i think he is gonna swap Kab's for Kabina in the trade.
