You've seen the scenario in many cartoons. The character is trying to make a decision and he has a little angel on one shoulder and a little devil on the other, both offering advice on which way to go.
That is me with the Western Conference Final. I am a massive Oiler fan and I just don't know what to do with the Anaheim Ducks.
On one-hand, I hate the Ducks. Well not really, I just hate Pronger. I know, I know, we should get over it but really, should I cheer for a guy that broke our hearts and screwed the City over in the process? I think you are asking too much.
But on the other hand, if the Ducks beat the Red Wings, the Oilers land another first rounder. That would give us 5 firsts over 2 drafts. Even the Oilers scouting staff can't botch all the picks.
I suppose the ideal situation is for Pronger to make the finals, thus securing us the pick and then get crushed by the East champions. Possible, very possible. But I think that is cutting it a little too close.
My little shoulder buddy has spoken: Go Wings Go.
Your little shoulder buddy is wise beyond his years!!! I'm mad at your Oilers for signing away Andrew Cogliano from the Univ. of Michigan hockey team. He's not ready for the NHL right now and would have been much better served to remain with Michigan where he could learn from Coach Berenson. No way will he get the quality of instruction in the Oilers farm system. Anyway, root those Wings on...
