Canucks' Injury Updates

Posted 2:29 AM ET | Comments 5
The injuries on the blueline continue to mount.

Defencemen Willie Mitchell and Rory Fitzpatrick did not skate on Saturday. Mitchell is expected to play Game 3, but Fitzpatrick is questionable with the flu.

In case Fitzpatrick can't go, the Canucks have recalled veteran defenceman Yannick Tremblay from the Manitoba Moose.

Sami Salo was close to returning on Friday, so there is a chance he may play on sunday.

Bieksa will not play on Sunday, he skated by himself on Saturday and according to TSN, he "moved like he had eggs in his pockets"

I'm down with Yannick, he's a cool cat.

No Panic Yanic could boost our powerplay especially if Salo can't play. He's got a pretty good canon. I'd rather have Fitzy though, since he's so much better defensively.

urgh, i don't think tremblay will do us any favours if he plays. winning this series will require a water-tight defence, and tremblay isn't known for his defensive abilities. and after his first couple games, he wasn't all that great on the powerplay either. i just hope he doesn't have to play

I heard a rumour that Bieksa has a broken rib

I have been wondering about the honesty behind Bieksa's so called flu.
