As you may have already read on Sharks.nhl.com, Devin Setoguchi and Torrey Mitchell were both called into Ron Wilson's office before Saturday night's game "to have a talk about numbers." Mitchell told Sharks.nhl.com, "For a second, I thought it wasn't good news and we were being sent down."

Instead, the two were given the choice of what number they want to wear for the upcoming season. After winning a coin flip, Setoguchi got first pick and took #16. Mitchell took #17. Who knew Mark Smith's number would be in such demand!

Unfortunately for Setoguchi, his luck turned sour following the coin flip. In the third period of Saturday night's game, he threw a hard check in deep behind the Flames net and went down hard. He had difficulty skating off the ice and was not able to practice today. More tomorrow, but with so much depth in camp, there's no reason to rush Setoguchi back.

Mitchell's luck also changed over the weekend following the coin flip. After barely being able to skate on Friday morning and missing Saturday night's game, he looked explosive this morning in drills. He definitely has his speed back.

Lines in practice today were:

Marleau - Thornton - Cheechoo
Clowe - Pavelski - Bernier
Rissmiller - Goc - Grier
Michalek - Mitchell - (Setoguchi's spot)
Roenick - Brown

Plihal and Norton are still out with longer term injuries. Norton had his back heavily wrapped this morning. Both will likely open the season on IR. Setoguchi might as well now with this latest injury, as that would bring the roster to 23.

On defence, Christian Ehrhoff is appearantly suffering from a bit of a cold and did not practice today. Davison filled in with McLaren. Rivet also looks much better than he did Friday morning.

Carle - Rivet
Murray - Vlasic
McLaren - Davison
Semenov - Ozolinsh
